The Nesquehoning police received a report of a phone scam from an elderly couple around 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

A male with a foreign accent called them and wanted information. Their daughter then took the phone and the caller hung up after being scared off. The caller's phone number is (707) 260-2562.Police urge residents to not give out any information to persons unknown and notify police if you get a call.
