Two face charges in drug bust

Two Mahoning Township residents have been charged with multiple drug counts following a search of their residence Wednesday morning.

Township police initiated a search warrant at 126 Jamestown St. early Wednesday after completing an investigation regarding the selling of drugs from the residence. Information indicated the resident of the home, later identified as Karen Foster, 52, was actively selling methamphetamine.On two occasions between May 1-5, police used a confidential informant to purchase methamphetamine from Foster. As a result of the search warrant police seized methamphetamine, marijuana, a digital scale, cash and other drug paraphernalia.Foster, as well as another adult, Joshua Thack, 19, were taken from the home and charged.Foster is charged with two counts each of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver (felony), criminal use of a communication facility (felony), and one count each of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia (all misdemeanors).She was arraigned before a district judge and committed to the county prison after failing to post 10 percent $25,000 bail.Thack has been charged with one count each of possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia (both misdemeanors).Thack was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.Township police said Jim Thorpe police and a state police K9 unit assisted in the investigation.
