The Carbon County Art League will hold its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Penn Kidder Senior Center, 995 Route 903, Jim Thorpe.

There will be a PowerPoint presentation by Dave McGeehan showing examples of his wood sculpture plus the process involved between the beginning concept and the finished piece. Encaustic will also be covered followed by a short wood sculpting demo. McGeehan is enthusiastic about his art and enjoys sharing his love of wood sculpting with others. Part of the mission of the Carbon County Art League is to inform and educate the public about art and to stimulate interest in the arts. The public is invited.For more information, visit
