Petrack earns degree from Moravian

Peter John Petrack of Lehighton was awarded a Bachelor of Music degree on May 14 during the 274th commencement exercises at Moravian College in Bethlehem. Peter graduated summa cum laude with honors in music, majoring in music composition with a concentration in trombone.

A Comenius Scholar, Peter earned a 3.87 GPA, and was named to the dean's honor list every semester at Moravian. He is a 2012 graduate of Lehighton Area High School. He was one of only 19 students out of 410 graduating seniors to earn honors.Peter represents Moravian in the 2016 "Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities"; is a member of the National History Honor society, Phi Alpha Theta; the International Trombone Association; and was a vice president of the Gamma Pi chapter of Delta Omicron International Music Honors Fraternity.Peter is the son of Jessica Fahey-Petrack of Lehighton, and the late Pete Petrack. He is the grandson of Jessie Berger Fahey of Lehighton, and the late John J. Fahey Sr., and the late Peter "Perry" and Dorothy Petrack. He owes his musical success to local music teachers Robert and Melissa Fetterman, and to the Lehighton Boys & Girls Band.
