Veteran and community organizations throughout the area are preparing for Memorial Day weekend by cleaning memorials, placing flags, organizing volunteers, and preparing for events. Cleaning and preparing the Lansford's UVO Veterans War Memorial located at Kennedy Park are Lansford American Legion Home Association President Tim Midas and Legion member Ruth Kozuch, both from Lansford. In addition to four other locations in Lansford Monday, a memorial service will be held at Kennedy Park at 9:15 a.m.
