Chestnuthill and Hamilton townships are currently involved in a boundary dispute resulting from maps issued by the county's reassessment mapping project.

Alan Everett of the Hamilton Township supervisors said that the previous board had signed an agreement with Chestnuthill as to where the boundary was to be placed.However, he said a landowner who wanted to subdivide his property and who had hired a private surveyor to determine the boundary line recently received maps back from the assessment office indicating that his property was in Chestnuthill Township rather than Hamilton, and that the boundary line indicated by the surveyor was incorrect.
