Tamaqua district court

Six people failed to appear for preliminary hearings before District Magistrate Steven Bayer, of Tamaqua, on Dec. 4, including three people who live locally.

Sabile B. Mehmeti

, 35, of Tamaqua, was due in court on charges filed by Coaldale patrolman James Bonner. Charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license were filed in connection with an Oct. 19 incident.

Ryan Steve Reyes-Negron

, 19, of McAdoo, was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving without a license and driving without rear lights. The charges were filed by McAdoo patrolman William Curilla after a Sept. 1 traffic stop.

Ronald Arthur Schwimer III

, 35, of Lansford, faced charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. The charges were filed by Coaldale patrolman Ryan Oldt in connection with a June 26 case.

Brian David Frink

, 30, of Gladys, Virginia, was supposed to be in court to answer to charges of driving under the influence of alcohol (BAC 0.16 or higher) and driving without rear lights. The charges were filed by Coaldale patrolman Thomas Sabulsky in May 18.

Demetrius Avery Greene

, 28, of Quakertown, missed his hearing on charges filed by Curilla. Charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and violating a noise ordinance were filed after a Sept. 2 traffic stop.

Jennifer R. McKoy

, 34, of Philadelphia, was charged with receiving stolen property in relation to a June 18 case. The charge was filed by Rush Township patrolman Robert Bechtel.

Warrants were issued for their arrests.

Gino Cara

, 53, of McAdoo, did go through with his preliminary hearing. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol (BAC between 0.10 and 0.16) and failure to stop at a red light. The charges were filed by Curilla after an Aug. 16 traffic stop. All three charges were bound over for trial in the Schuylkill County Court of Common Pleas.

Cara was released on his own recognizance.

Anthony Joseph Napolitano

, 33, of Lansford, waived a hearing on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges were filed by Rush Township patrolman Michael Weaver, stemming from an Oct. 24 case.

Napolitano was released on his own recognizance.

Anthony Thaddeus Heffelfinger

, 42, of Coaldale, waived a hearing on charges of possession of a controlled substance and failure to comply with exhaust requirements. The charges stem from an April 23 traffic stop and were filed by Coaldale patrolman Thomas Sabulsky.

Heffelfinger was released on his own recognizance.

Brian Jonathan Haley

, 24, of Lansford, waived a hearing on charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, reckless driving, careless driving, driving at an unsafe speed and operating a vehicle without insurance. The charges were filed by Tamaqua patrolman Aaron Koehler in connection with a Sept. 25 case.

Haley was released on his own recognizance.

Benjamin Doskus

, 31, of Reading, waived charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without required headlights and driving under the influence of a metabolite directly to county court. The charges were filed by Sabulsky in connection with a June 20 case.

Doskus was released on his own recognizance.

Efrain Nieves Jr.

, 19, of Sheppton, waived a hearing on charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and disregard of a traffic lane. The charges stem from a July 20 case and were filed by Curilla.

Nieves was released on his own recognizance.

Brian Bloss

, 34, of Tamaqua, waived a hearing on charges of possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges were filed by Tamaqua patrolman Anthony Stanell in connection with an Oct. 17 case.

Bloss was released on $15,000 unsecured bail.

Kody Michael Frank

, 26, of Pottsville, waived a hearing on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a misbranded controlled substance. The charges were filed by Sabulsky after a June 18 incident.

Frank was released on his own recognizance.

Tyler John Trovinger

, 18, of Mary D, waived his hearing on charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence by a minor, driving without rear lights and driving under the influence of a metabolite. The charges were filed by Sabulsky in connection with a June 21 case.

Trovinger was released on his own recognizance.

Robin L. Stayathome

, 43, of Tamaqua, waived a hearing on charges of retail theft, filed by Stanell. The charges are related to an Oct. 17 case.

Stayathome was released on her own recognizance.

Robert Ebbert II

, 44, of Lehighton, waived a hearing on charges of theft of property, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. The charges were filed by Oldt after an Oct. 11 theft.

Ebbert was released on his own recognizance.
