Palmerton Borough Council took the following action recently:

• Approved a resolution approving an application to LSA Monroe Grant program for Railroad Alley repair.

• Approved a resolution approving an application to LSA Monroe Grant program for sewer improvements.

• Approved the first reading of a rental ordinance, and authorized to advertise.

• Approved the police pension fund 2027 Minimum Municipal Obligation, in the amount of $303,473.

• Approved the non-uniformed pension fund 2027 Minimum Municipal Obligation, in the amount of $181,208.

• Agreed to hire up to two seasonal employees for leaf collection.

• Appointed a junior firefighter to the Palmerton Fire Department.

• Approved the first reading of installation of handicap parking space, and authorized to advertise.
