The Schuylkill Technology Center announced that the pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination was almost 93% for the adult practical nursing class. The exam is required by nursing school graduates to obtain licensure in Pennsylvania.
STC operates an 18-month day program and 24-month evening program for adult learners with clinical rotations at Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital, Lehigh Valley Health Network Schuylkill, Mt. Carmel Nursing and Rehabilitation, Shenandoah Manor, Broad Mountain Nursing Home, Greenwood Center for Nursing, Devita Dialysis, Silver Pines Rehabilitation, Aveanna Pediatric Home Health, Child Development and Schuylkill Intermediate Unit 29.
“STC offers three- and four-day class schedules that provide our adult learners with the flexibility to manage work and family commitments, while attending nursing school and it is that flexibility that contributes to STC impressive student retention and licensure rates,” said STC Director Dr. Shannon Brennan.
“Schuylkill Technology Center has a proud tradition of preparing nurses to fill the workforce needs of Schuylkill County since 1968, and we are extremely proud of our success rates,” said Kimberly O’Neill, coordinator of the practical nursing program.
