The Monroe County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of a man who died after he was struck by a vehicle in Interstate 81 eastbound on Monday afternoon.

The Monroe County Coroner’s Office said Pedro Ernesto Salcedo Carrasco, 51, of New Jersey was pronounced dead on scene at 4:24 p.m. after he was struck by a vehicle.

An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.

The cause and manner of death are pending investigation.

The Pennsylvania State Police are conducting their investigation into the incident.
