N.J. man sought after Penn Forest traffic stop

Anderson Abreu-Jerez, 32, of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, is facing multiple charges, including driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, after police made a traffic stop at 9:43 p.m. Sept. 26.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said that Abreu-Jerez, whom they believe was staying at an Airbnb in Towamensing Township, remains at large.

He was stopped in a 2010 Honda Odyssey for various traffic violations in the area of routes 903 and 534 in Penn Forest Township.

Police said he physically resisted arrest, overcoming two deployments of a stun gun and continuing to fight with officers before running into a wooded area.

Abreu-Jerez is charged with resisting arrest, evading arrest or detention on foot and DUI.
