An Albrightsville man is facing child pornography charges following an investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police Southeast Computer Crime Task Force.

According to court documents, investigators received information through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s CyberTipline regarding online activity between Feb. 1 and April 1 involving the possession and sharing of child pornography. The report included four images and one video depicting children younger than 18.

Nicholas Morris, 25, was previously convicted in 2021 of possessing child pornography and is required to register under Pennsylvania’s sex offender laws

Investigators searched Morris’ home on Aug. 27 and seized several cellphones. During the search, Morris acknowledged that the phone numbers and email address linked to the CyberTipline report belonged to him and that he had used them in the past.

Police also found a Ford F-150 registered to Morris at the property. Authorities said the vehicle had not been included in his required registration information, though Morris told investigators he used it daily for work.

A forensic examination of the phones allegedly uncovered 61 files containing child sexual abuse material. Investigators reported finding 35 files on one phone and 25 on another.

According to the affidavit, the children depicted in the material ranged in age from about 2 to 12 years old.

Morris is charged with eight counts related to child sexual abuse material, along with one count each of disseminating child sexual abuse material, criminal use of a communication facility and failure to provide accurate registration information.

He remains in Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday before District Judge Joseph D. Homanko Sr. in Weatherly.
