Polk Township supervisors recently conducted the following business:

• A conditional use was approved for Kresgeville Real Estate Development regarding Dunkin Donuts to be built on Route 209 near the Polk Township Fire Company.

• There are two culverts needing repairs on Dotters Corner Road in Polk Township. The lower culvert will be repaired as bids are received and paperwork is completed. They were not able to get all easements from neighbors for the upper culvert so plans will need to be changed.

• The supervisors had a discussion about zoning and foundations for manufactured homes as there is a stricter zoning ordinance than the building code. No further action was taken although the plan is to make zoning and building code the same for manufactured homes.

• There were 34 emergencies for the Polk Fire Company, with a year-to-date total of 173. Twelve hours of fundraising were completed in July and 197 hours of training.

• An Environmental Day will be held on Oct. 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Repairs were made on the playground equipment at the park.

• A waiver was approved for 126 Floyd Drive for septic replacement 87 feet from the well as it is a smaller property.
