Lehighton Borough Council took the following action on Monday:
• Agreed to pay employees #333 and #344 up to 10% in their base salary, effective immediately. The employees are members of the police department.
• Approved a resolution for a Local Share Account Monroe grant for Tasers, as well as a resolution for a Local Share Account Monroe grant for police vehicles for the police department.
• Agreed not to seek reimbursement for four employees the borough paid earlier in the year on PMRS pensionable income.
• Approved moving police pension reports from Foster and Foster to PSAB.
• Approved the borough’s uniform MMO payment, in the amount of $416,216.
• Approved the borough’s nonuniform MMO payment, in the amount of $137,805.
• Tabled the advertisement of an ordinance for the DEP model stormwater ordinance.
• Appointed borough secretary Martina Hill as the Right to Know officer.
• Approved the Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club 21st annual Pink Light Walk, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 6.
• Approved the fire department Boot Drive at Third and Iron streets during the Witches Midnight Market event Oct. 24.
• Approved Trick-or-Treat night from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31.
