Pennsylvania State Police released statistics relating to traffic enforcement initiatives conducted across the commonwealth over the Labor Day holiday.

Police said that during the period of Sept. 4-7, 790 crashes were investigated on Pennsylvania roads in their jurisdiction, with 152 of them being injury-related crashes that resulted in three deaths. Impaired driving was a factor in 67 of those crashes, none of which involved fatalities.

The report indicates police arrested 450 motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and issued 25,402 citations. The citations included 6,447 for speeding, 770 for failure to wear a seat belt and 84 for not having children secured in safety seats.

The Labor Day weekend crash statistics are as follows (with 2025 statistics in parentheses for comparison): total crashes — 790 (750); fatal crashes — 3 (7); people killed — 3 (7); injury-related crashes — 152 (129); DUI-related crashes — 67 (61); and DUI-related fatal crashes — 0 (2).

Enforcement statistics for the weekend included: DUI arrests — 450 (529); speeding citations — 6,447 (6,961); child seat citations — 84 (152); seat belt citations — 770 (826); and other citations — 18,101 (17,539).
