• American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert, remembrance service at 11 a.m. at the post, Fairgrounds Road and Route 209.

• Palmerton Community Festival, opening service at 5 p.m. includes a remembrance of Sept. 11. 2001.

• Nesquehoning Memorial VFW Post 8008 will hold its annual Sept. 11 Memorial Ceremony at 5 p.m. at the Veterans’ and First Responders’ Memorial Grove, located on the east end of the borough, next to the Nesquehoning Hose Company.

• St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley in Summit Hill will hold its annual Red, White and Blue Mass in honor of the 25th anniversary of Patriot Day at 6 p.m. at the church, 462 W. Ludlow St. All police, firefighters, first responders, legal professionals, health care workers and those who serve the families of the Panther Valley are invited to receive a blessing during Mass. Wear your uniform. All service vehicles will be blessed after the Mass.

Saturday

• A memorial service will be held at the South Ward Playground in Tamaqua. The service will begin at 6 p.m. at the playground at Penn and Oak streets.

• A remembrance service will be held at the Lehighton Upper Park Amphitheatre.

The service will begin at 7 p.m. Sept. 12, and is being presented by the Lehighton United Veterans Organization.

In the event of rain, the service will be held in the Lehighton Boys & Girls Band Hall, 197 N. Sixth St.
