Sew What Quilt Guild prepares for upcoming events
The Sew What Quilt Guild will host its monthly meeting on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Local quilters and fabric arts enthusiasts are invited to attend.
The gathering takes place in the upstairs Gallery at the Palmerton Area Library.
The group will be preparing for its Quilt Bingo to be held on Sept. 20, at the Aquashicola Fire Company. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.; games start at 1 p.m. Refreshments available to purchase.
Members are reminded to bring any contributions for the prizes (e.g., wall hangings, lap quilts, placemats, table runners, etc.) to the September meeting.
Members will also have a basket raffle at the bingo. If you want to make a basket, please bring it to this meeting. If you have items that can be used in a basket, please bring them along. If you cannot wrap your basket, members will finish getting them ready that day.
Save your empty paper towel rolls for making gnome Christmas ornaments during the October meeting. They will be sold at the Quilted Crow. All profits will benefit Family Promise.
A reminder that the Sew What Quilt Guild shirts and aprons are done and will be available for pick up during the meeting. Payment will be due if you have not already paid.
Note the change for the Dec. 4 meeting: It will be 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church at the corner of Fifth and Lafayette avenues in Palmerton for a Christmas Tea. There is a cost. You must preregister and pay by the November meeting. Bring a wrapped ornament or small gift for our exchange.
During one of the wintertime meetings, Terri Sheckler will teach members to do a collage of a pet. Look for 8 x 10 picture of a pet or an animal to use for this class.
If you have any travel-size toiletries, like those from hotel stays, please bring them to the meeting or drop them off at the library.
The meeting concludes with a Show ‘N Tell, so bring along your latest projects to share.
