Harry Dickert of the State Highways district office in Allentown today was named coordinator for the Highway Week to be held next month.

State Highways Secretary Henry D. Harral said Dickert will oversee the initiative following the signing of a proclamation by Governor William Scranton.

Dickert was named to lead the program at a meeting held in Harrisburg and said the importance of Highway Week is to allow the “public to know what we are doing in this fast accelerating highway building program.

The week observance will include “open house” tours of highway offices where the public will be able to see highway project and designs.

The Allentown office oversees roads in Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe and Northampton counties.
