Northern Lehigh shared good news about the district marching band on Monday.
Dr. Matthew J. Link, superintendent of the Northern Lehigh School District, reported that the school received a donation.
He said that the school district has received a $1,000 donation from Peter Vas Dias toward the purchase of new band uniforms.
“Thank you, Mr. Vas Dias for your generous support of the Northern Lehigh School District Band,” Link said.
In other band news, Elliot Stowman was appointed a temporary professional employee, to serve as secondary music/band teacher at a salary of $59,950. He will also receive a stipend of $5,968 as high school band director and $1,233 as middle school band director.
Other appointments
The board appointed:
• Kris Jimenez as an independent contractor for the 2026-27 high school marching band season as guard choreographer at a cost of $500.
• Richard Strader as an independent contractor for the 2026-27 high school marching band season as musical visual technician at a cost of $750.
• Carissa Gurganus as an independent contractor for the 2026-27 high school marching band season as guard instructor at a cost of $350.
• Michael Tanzos as an independent contractor for the 2026-27 high school marching band season as drill writer at a cost of $1,000.
• Justin Tanzos as an independent contractor for the 2026-27 high school marching band season as percussion arranger at a cost of $400.
