More than $140K worth of copper wire stolen

State police at the Hazleton barracks are investigating the theft of more than $140,000 worth of copper wire from a construct site in Hazle Township.

Police said the victim is PPL, Allentown, whose personnel reported the theft at 1:49 p.m. on July 17.

They said someone gained access to a storage yard off 80 Commerce Drive and stole the wire having a value of $140,696.95 and a hand tool worth $250.
