While many students were enjoying the first week of summer vacation, three Marian Catholic High School students were investing in their future as leaders by participating in the prestigious Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar held at Millersville University.

Marian congratulates Cara Rehnert ’28 of Summit Hill, Jack LeClair ’28 of Lansford, and Victoria Lashock ’28 of Hazle Township on their selection and participation in this highly respected leadership development program.

HOBY is one of the nation’s premier youth leadership organizations, empowering high school students to develop their leadership talents, build confidence and make a positive impact in their schools and communities. During the multiday seminar, students engaged in interactive workshops, leadership exercises, service-learning opportunities and discussions with accomplished leaders from various fields.

The experience challenged participants to explore their personal leadership styles, collaborate with peers from across Pennsylvania and develop skills that will help them become effective leaders in their schools, communities, and future careers.

“At Marian, we are committed to forming young men and women who lead with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to service,” said Marian’s principal, the Rev. Robert Finlan. “We are proud of Cara, Jack and Victoria for representing Marian so well and for embracing this opportunity to grow as leaders.”

The Marian Catholic community congratulates these outstanding students on their achievement and looks forward to seeing the positive impact they will continue to make both within the school and beyond.

Since opening its doors in 1954, Marian Catholic High School has graduated more than 8,000 students, now living in all 50 states and abroad.

The school honors the legacies of its predecessor institutions — Saint Ann’s High School (Lansford), Saint Mary’s High School (Coaldale), Saint Jerome’s High School (Tamaqua), and Mauch Chunk Catholic High School (Jim Thorpe).

Today, that legacy of faith, learning and community extends to the alumni of Bishop Hafey High School and Cardinal Brennan High School. While those school buildings may no longer be open, their spirit and values endure through Marian’s ongoing mission. All graduates from these institutions are warmly welcomed as part of the Marian family.
