The November ballot in Lake Harmony will include a referendum about ambulance and rescue squad tax rates.

Charlotte Blackwell, former ambulance board member noted, “Where is our revenue going? There’s got to be more accountability.”

Blackwell, at the recent Kidder Township supervisors meeting, also asked if education would be provided to the public about the tax rate as 50% of tax revenue goes to emergency services. This may leave residents asking what the need is for the tax.

Three informational sessions will be held by the ambulance to help address that question.

In a related matter, Scott Wuttke, chief of Lake Harmony Rescue Squad, said that the ambulance got certified by the Department of Health as an Immediate Advance Life Support truck, a process that began a year ago.

The ambulance has advanced airway gear, cardiac monitors and access to more medications among other services.

In other business, advertising will go out for adoption of the proposed International Fire Code, which safeguards life and property from fires and explosion hazards.

Letters will be going out to properties on the water as address marker signs are now required on the waterway side of properties.

Approval was given to place the first and second quarterly non-uniformed pension reports on file. The 2025 financial statements were accepted and placed on file.

There were 305 calls to the police department for the month of June, and 95 traffic citations were issued. Six license plate readers were approved for purchase with a three-year contract with Flock Safety.

The cost is $18,900 for the first year and $18,000 each of two subsequent years. Replacement of camera is included if damaged.
