The Schuylkill County Fair opens Monday from the county fairgrounds along Route 895 in Summit Station.

The theme for this year’s fair is “Celebrating 250 Years of Freedom, Family and PA Farms.”

Food, entertainment, educational programs, agricultural exhibits, amusements, music, tractor pulls and more are on the schedule of the fair, which runs through Aug. 1.

Whether visiting for the first time or carrying on a family tradition, there’s something waiting for everyone at the fair.

Explore the livestock barns, admire the exhibits created by local residents, enjoy the midway, browse dozens of vendors and savor favorite fair foods from sizzling barbecue and fresh-cut fries to homemade ice cream and funnel cakes.

The excitement continues each day with crowd favorites including the hilarious Muttville Comix canine comedy show, educational wildlife exhibits, antique tractor demonstrations, family activities, agricultural displays, contests, and special events happening throughout the week. Plus, don’t miss the truck and tractor pulls and many other grandstand attractions that have become fair traditions.

Parking at the fair is free, as is admission for those under the age of 10.

And on Friday, veterans, active military and first responders receive free admission.

Gates will open at 4 p.m. Monday for Pulling Day. The day will feature amusement rides opening at 4 p.m. The Royalty contest begins at 4 p.m., and a tractor parade is at 4:30 p.m. Royalty will be crowned at 6 p.m. Porcupine Pat will present “Ways of Wildlife” from the indoor midway at 6 p.m. A chance to meet 4-H Club members and their horses will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the horse barn, and dairy judging is at 6:15 p.m. at the Ag Arena. The New Individuals will perform at 7 and 9 p.m. at the JRL Emergency Services stage. At 7 p.m., Pull-Off Productions will have truck and tractor pulls at the Ag Museum track for an additional fee.

Tuesday is Kids Day and gates open at 11 a.m. A host of activities will be held for children. The 6X9 Band performs at 7 and 9 p.m., and Atlantic Line Pulling will have tractor and truck pulls at 7 p.m.

Wednesday is Schuylkill County Day with gates opening at 4 p.m. Eric Cawall’s Uptown Band will perform at 7 and 9 p.m., and Pull Off Productions and Farm Stock Pulls begin at 7 p.m.

Senior Appreciation Day is Thursday with gates opening at 4 p.m. Jimmy Holmes, Graceland’s 2025 Ultimate Elvis, and the Spin-Outs will perform at 7 and 9 p.m.

July 31 is Military/First Responders Day and gates open at 4 p.m. DJ Chicken Nugget will have line dancing at 7 p.m. at the Ag Arena, and Dave Bray USA will perform at 7 and 9 p.m.

On Aug. 1, the fair is having “Celebrating 250 Years of Freedom, Family and State Fairs” with gates opening at 11 a.m. Country Live will perform at 7 and 9 p.m.
