Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on July 16 with 26 members present.

President Jean Machamer opened the meeting with the invocation, “Heavenly Father.”

The group enjoyed delicious food prepared by Hess Catering for their anniversary and picnic. A member donated ice cream for dessert, and another member donated cups.

The meeting closed and bingo was played.

At the next meeting, an auction with $10 gifts will be held. The group meets at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the Coaldale Complex.

Recovery Church

Recovery Church holds meetings at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at New Life Assembly Church, 407 Schuylkill Ave., Tamaqua.

It is both a church and a recovery fellowship.

The weekly meetings focus on Jesus and the “12 Steps.” The gatherings include music, fellowship and teachings or testimony. The church may be reached at 570-668-4059

St. Peter’s - West Penn

The 9 a.m. Sunday worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn will be held outside at West Penn Park. A luncheon will follow.

The 9 a.m. Aug. 2 service will have the sacrament of Holy Communion.

Zion Lewistown

Zion Men will meet at 8 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Hall.

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service. The adult Sunday school meets at 9:30 a.m.
