Growing Place honored for 50th anniversary

The Monroe County commissioners presented a certificate of special recognition to staff from the Growing Place Child Care Centers in honor of their 50th anniversary in business.

The certificate was presented during the commissioners’ meeting on Wednesday, but had been approved at the June 17 meeting. Commissioner Sharon Laverdure presented the certificate.

“What an honor. What wonderful work to be able to present to an organization that has been with us for 50 years,” Laverdure said. “They’ve been helping children and parents and families along the way for that long. Congratulations on celebrating 50 years of serving the children and families of Monroe County. Your commitment and dedication to providing child care has made a difference for many. We wish you continued success in the future.”

Accepting the certificate were Lisa Ickes, the executive director of Growing Place Child Care Centers, and Linda Barney, the human resources and communications director.

Growing Place Child Care Centers has locations in Stroudsburg, Brodheadsville and Kresgeville.
