Former Northwestern standout Rafe Perich has added another honor during an exceptional 2026 season.
After being named the South Atlantic League Player of the Month in May with the Hub City Spartanburgers, a high-A team in the Texas Rangers organization, the Tiger graduate also earned Player of the Week honors with Class double-A Frisco in the Texas League.
For the week of July 6-12, Perich hit .423 (11-for-26) with three doubles, four homers, six runs, six RBIs and two walks. For the month of July, his numbers include a .419 average, .500 OBP, .860 slugging, 10 runs and eight RBIs.
For the season, which includes both levels, he’s hitting .313 with a .407 OBP and an OPS of 1.040. He has 88 hits in 281 at-bats with 72 runs, 21 homers, 65 RBIs and seven stolen bases.
The 24-year-old has played 179 career games in the minors after being drafted in the seventh round by Texas in 2024. Perich, whose father Josh was drafted by the Mets in the 11th round in 1998 and participated in 222 minor league games, played his college ball at Lehigh University.
