Walter J. Zlomsowitch of New Mahoning, Lehighton R.2, is the newest member of the Mahoning Township Board of Supervisors, having been appointed to that position on Wednesday night by the board.

Zlomsowitch will succeed David Pollock, who resigned from the board in June.

The appointment of Zlomsowitch came by unanimous vote, with Chairman Timothy M. Eckhart and Vice Chairman Charles H. Eidem voting affirmatively on the vote.

Eckhart, who made the motion, said the township received two letters of interest in Pollock’s position, the other applicant having been Franklin Althouse Sr.

Zlomsowitch has been a millwright for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation for the past 20 years.
