Carbon County Education Expo scheduled for July 18

The Carbon County Education Expo will be held on Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Franklin Township Fire Company.

This free, family-friendly event gathers several of the region’s educational programs, service providers and community resources in one welcoming place so parents can meet them face to face and find the fit that helps their child thrive.

Throughout the day, families can explore a wide range of educational paths — from traditional schools to homeschool communities; from tutoring and support services to enrichment programs. Children are welcome, too: The Kids Corner offers hands-on activities so parents can browse and ask questions while their little ones stay happily engaged. Empowering presentations will run throughout the day, giving parents practical guidance and encouragement as they make decisions for their families.

Be sure to visit the raffle table, where prizes include two sets of four tickets to a Lehigh Valley IronPigs game. You can also support the fire company by grabbing lunch from its kitchen, open throughout the day.

The expo is co-directed by Christine Allen, owner of Reading Escapades & Math Explorers, and Joy Beers, an independent education advocate.

“Every family deserves to know the full range of options available to their children and to feel supported rather than alone in that decision. Our goal is simple: to bring people together in one welcoming place, so parents leave feeling encouraged and equipped,” said Christine Allen, co-director.

Admission is free, and no registration is required, although families are encouraged to RSVP through the event’s Facebook page.
