Turnpike crashes
State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes that happened on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:
• Ethan A. Boudwin, 21, of Mill Hall, was injured in a three-vehicle crash at 4:45 p.m. June 14 at mile marker 69.3 in Washington Township.
Police said he was transported by personnel from the Northern Valley Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township.
They said he was driving a 2024 Ford Bronco that was involved in the crash, with a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Crystal L. Payne, 63, of Philadelphia, and a 2013 Honda CRV operated by Anthony Bello Rivera, 24, of Allentown.
A passenger in the Bronco, Katryna M. Englert, 21, of Lock Haven, was also transported to the hospital, police said. Payne, Bello Rivera and a passenger with the latter were all uninjured.
Police said Boudwin was cited for the crash.
• Cody L. Beverage, 22, of Taylor, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed following a one-vehicle crash at 3:15 p.m. June 22 at mile marker 78.4 in Franklin Township. He was uninjured in the incident.
Police said he was driving a 2008 Dodge Dakota southbound during a heavy rainstorm that rendered roadways hazardous for normal driving conditions. They said Beverage lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into the center concrete divider. It had moderate damages and was towed from the scene.
• Police were called to a hit-and-run mishap at 1:27 p.m. June 16 at mile marker 79 in Franklin Township.
They said a vehicle traveling south in the right lane attempted to merge into the left lane and struck a 2020 Ford Transit driven by Cristo Almonte Pichardo, 24, of Reading, and fled the scene.
Police said the Transit had damages to its left front fender, passenger-side fender and windshield.
They said Almonte Pichardo was uninjured in the incident.
• Karrie L. Kula, 45, and Gerald G. Kula, 76, both of Germansville, were uninjured in a two-vehicle crash at 1:15 p.m. June 22 at mile marker 129.9 in South Abington Township.
Police said the crash occurred when Karrie Kula was driving a 2018 Acura that struck the rear of a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek driven by Gerald Kula, who had stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of the exit ramp and was anticipating a turn onto the turnpike.
Police said the Acura had disabling damages and had to be towed from the scene while the Crosstrek had minor damages.
They said Karrie Kula was cited for careless driving.
