Nesquehoning Borough Council acted on the following items during its monthly meeting last week.

• Approved the borough planning commission’s preliminary plan approval for the Glen Onoko Subdivision.

• Approved the manhole rehab project with USG in the amount of $23,165. The project includes work on manholes in Lake Hauto.

• Approved the purchase of a kit gutter brush for $2,219 and sweeper bucket for $6,608.94 from Buy Power Sports.

• Approved the purchase of a zero turn mower from Lowe’s for $5,999.99.

• Councilwoman Lisa Shubeck announced that volunteers are needed for the upcoming National Night Out on Aug. 4. Anyone who would like to be part of the event should contact the recreation commission.

• Authorized Attorney Robert Yurchak to draft the ordinance for EDU calculation of water tapping fees.
