Two people were injured Friday evening in a crash in Mahoning Township.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Route 902 and Beisels road involving a car and a pickup truck. Members of the Mahoning Valley fire company worked to extricate the injured who were then treated by members of the Mahoning Valley ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to an area trauma center. Mahoning township police are investigating the incident.
