State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following crashes:
• Alyssa D. Monica, 20, of Wilkes-Barre, and Sarah M. Allen, 19, of Wyoming, Pennsylvania, had minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 3:45 a.m. June 21 on Mill Road in Mahoning Township.
Police said they were transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.
Police said Monica was driving a 2022 Volkswagen Jetta, with Allen as her passenger. They said the vehicle was northbound when it left the road and struck a mailbox and boulder. It was towed from the scene.
Police said charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance are pending against Monica. She was also cited for unsafe driving.
• Police said two vehicles were damaged in a crash at 1:42 p.m. June 23 at the intersection of Interchange Road and Bridge Street.
They said a 2000 Buick Regal was stopped at a red light on Canal Street and its driver attempted to turn left onto Bridge Street, sideswiping a 2015 Subaru. They said both vehicles had minor damages.
Police did not identify the drivers of the vehicles but said the driver of the Regal was cited for making an illegal U-turn.
