State police at the Hazleton barracks charged Laura Beil, 33, of Tamaqua, with retail theft (shoplifting) after police were called to the Walmart store, Airport Road, Hazle Township, at 3:35 p.m. June 25.

Police said she was cited after she was observed by the store’s loss prevention personnel failing to scan hot food items valued at $31.46 at a self checkout register in the store.
