Skillsusa honors

Career and technical education students were recognized with a certificate of accomplishment at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference held June 1 to 5 in Atlanta. An all-time high of 7,000 students competed in the 2026 SkillsUSA Championships at NLSC, which is the largest gathering of the future skilled workforce.

The following area students were recognized:

Summit Hill: Adam Gardiner, a student at Carbon Career & Technical Institute, Jim Thorpe, was awarded a Skill Point Certificate in architectural drafting.

New Tripoli: Daniel Riggins, a student at Thaddeus Stevens College of Tech, Lancaster, was awarded the college bronze medal in CNC programmer; Colin Mcaulay, a student at Lehigh Career & Technical Institute, Schnecksville, was awarded the high school silver medal in heavy equipment operation.

Walnutport: Parker Haydt, a student at Bethlehem AVTS, Bethlehem, was awarded the high school bronze medal in plumbing.
