2 juveniles in custody after Allentown fire

Two juveniles are in custody in connection with the fire on Wednesday that destroyed several properties on Front Street in Allentown.

The announcement Friday was made by Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan and Allentown Police Chief Charles Roca.

Neither juvenile will be named and their ages will not be provided.

Due to their age and the circumstances of the offense, the charges must proceed through the juvenile system.

Both are in juvenile detention and face charges that include counts of arson, reckless endangerment, conspiracy and causing a catastrophe.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Agencies that assisted with the investigation included the Allentown Fire Department, the Allentown Police Department and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Community fire departments and other agencies also offered assistance to affected residents.
