Tamaqua police log

Tamaqua police reported on the following incidents:

• Police cited three teenagers with underage drinking following a 7:53 p.m. June 16 incident at East End Park.

Police were sent to the playground and located a 14-year-old girl, 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy drinking alcohol while on top of playground equipment.

The three admitted to drinking, according to police.

All were taken into custody, cited and released into the custody of their guardians. In addition, one of the boys was issued a nontraffic citation for underage possession of a tobacco product.

• Police said they charged Samantha Williams, 26, of Coaldale, with disorderly conduct after she attempted to stop a tow truck from hauling away an illegally parked vehicle at 6:21 a.m. June 16 on the 100 block of West Moser Avenue in Coaldale.

According to police, the street was posted to prohibit parking because of street sweeping. Notices were posted 24 hours in advance and also on social media, police said.

Officers received a report of Williams causing a disturbance because her vehicle was being towed.

She called police names and continued to scream, despite being told to return to her home. Police said that Williams did not follow orders and was taken into custody and charged.
