The Slatington Police Department, with the assistance of the Lehigh County Municipal Emergency Response Team, carried out a search warrant and arrest warrant in the morning on June 19 at a residence located in the 300 block of West Center Avenue.

The warrants were executed as part of an investigation into multiple vehicle break-ins reported throughout the Borough of Slatington.

As a result of the investigation, Xavier Arroyo-Rios, 38, was taken into custody and transported to Lehigh County Jail for processing and arraignment.

Charges are: theft by unlawful taking or disposition (firearm — movable property), theft from a motor vehicle, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, evading arrest or detention on foot, and loitering and prowling at nighttime.

The Slatington Police Department would like to thank the members of the community who reported suspicious activity and cooperated with investigators throughout this case.
