State police at Bethlehem - crashes
State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following crashes:
• Three residents of Lynn, Massachusetts, were injured in a three-vehicle crash at 7:40 a.m. June 5 on Route 22 in Bethlehem Township.
Police said the severity of the injuries to Harry J. MacCabe, 80, Robert A. Pelchat, 75, and Elizabeth L. Gaeta, 68, were unknown but that they were not transported from the scene.
Three other people involved in the incident were listed by police as uninjured: Helen C. VanSumeren, 68, and a 6-year-old boy, both from Easton and passengers of MacCabe’s; and Daquan C. Smith, 26, of Kunkletown, a passenger in a 2006 Dodge Caravan.
Police said the crash involved a 2018 Honda Odyssey driven by MacCabe, the Caravan, whose driver wasn’t identified, and a Subaru Forester, whose driver left the scene.
All the vehicles were westbound when crash occurred, police said. Details of the crash weren’t provided.
Police said MacCabe and the Caravan driver were cited for failure to drive at a safe speed. The driver of the Forester faces a citation for failure to give information and render aid.
• Nayerie A. Marrero Ruiz, 22, of Allentown, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 8:55 a.m. May 29 on Route 22 in Hanover Township. No one was injured in the incident.
Police said she was driving a 2020 Honda Accord westbound when she failed to yield while attempting to merge onto the right traffic lane from Airport Road and the Honda struck the read end of a 2019 Ford operated by Timothy S. Wessner, 54, of New Tripoli.
Police said the Honda had disabling damage and was towed from the scene. The Ford was able to be driven from the scene.
• Elyse P. Holben, 19, of Lehighton, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 11 p.m. May 15 at the intersection of Park Avenue and Opossum Lane, Washington Township.
Police said she was driving a 2012 Ford Fusion north on Opossum Lane when she proceeded into the intersection in an attempt to continue north and the car struck a 2024 Chevrolet Traverse operated westbound on Park Avenue by Courtney A. Follweiler, 36, of Germansville. They said both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Police said Follweiler had a suspected minor chest injury and told police that she would be evaluated at an area hospital. Holben and three teenagers from Lehighton who were passengers in the Fusion and one passenger with Follweiler, an 11-year-old girl, were all uninjured.
• Michael G. Wotring, 69, of Schnecksville, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 11:42 a.m. May 27 at the intersection of Shankweiler and Coffeetown roads, North Whitehall Township. No one was injured in the incident.
Police said he was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu westbound on Shankweiler Road that proceeded into the intersection and struck a 2016 Kia Forte operated by Lennon L. Bretzius, 24, also of Schnecksville.
Police said the Forte was towed from the scene.
• Joshua D. Linsenbigler, 18, of Northampton, had suspected minor injuries after a motorcycle crash at 8:56 p.m. June 4 on Mountain Road, Heidelberg Township.
Police said he was transported by personnel from the Northern Valley Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township.
They said he was riding a 2007 Yamaha west when it struck a deer that entered its path, causing Linsenbigler to fall off the motorcycle.
• Nichole Tomicich, 36, of New Ringgold, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol following a one-vehicle crash at 3:15 a.m. May 24 at 3243 Old Post Road, Washington Township.
Police said she was driving a vehicle that left the roadway, entered a yard and struck a parked vehicle. They said the vehicles, a 1998 Ford F-450 and a 2004 Hyundai Accent, had minor damages.
Police said a victim of the crash is a 36-year-old man from Slatington.
• Sheena Laub, 39, of Slatington, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol following a one-vehicle crash at 11:05 p.m. April 29 at 7192 Route 873, Washington Township.
Police said she was driving a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500. They said the victim of the crash is PPL Corporation, Allentown.
