Hamlin continues Pocono dominance

LONG POND — Denny Hamlin continued his mastery of Pocono Raceway on Sunday.

Hamlin earned his third consecutive NASCAR Cup Series victory, holding off Tyler Reddick and William Byron to win at the Tricky Triangle for the eighth time in his career.

The victory marked Hamlin’s third straight triumph of the 2026 season, something the 45-year-old had never accomplished before in his NASCAR Cup Series career.

“It’s certainly the best we’ve been,” Hamlin said. “We come to the racetrack every week knowing that we’ve got a great shot to win, and the team’s just doing an amazing job giving me exactly what I need in the car every single week.”

Hamlin, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, also praised Pocono Raceway and its fans following the win.

“Pocono has mastered the fan experience from the crowd in the stands to the infield here,” Hamlin said. “Nick and his whole team have just done an amazing job.”

Hamlin acknowledged the sellout crowd after climbing from his car.

“Thank you,” he said. “It really means a lot. Seriously. Thank you so much.”

The victory continued a remarkable stretch for Hamlin and crew chief Chris Gayle, who have now combined for 10 wins in 51 starts together.

While others focus on the race for the regular-season championship, Hamlin’s mindset remains unchanged.

“I only care about winning,” he said.

Few drivers have done that more successfully at Pocono Raceway than Hamlin, who added another trophy to his record-setting collection Sunday.
