In an effort to put more weight behind Bear Creek Lake’s attempt to stop the construction of a new Jim Thorpe elementary school across from its development, the Penn Forest Township supervisors agreed to send their solicitor, attorney Thomas Nanovic, to the upcoming meeting of the township’s zoning hearing board.

Acting on a request by Linda Tiounoff, representing the development, the supervisors said Nanovic will observe the matter in which the school district is seeking approval for the proposed school on Route 903.

In an unrelated matter, the supervisors named Audrey Wargo Nichols to the zoning board. She will succeed Jim Smith, who resigned the position.
