June 4, 1954 — Tamaqua connects for four home runs to help defeat Lansford 17-3 in a legion contest. Going deep for the winners, coached by Eddie Neifert, were John Dalcin, Durban Wagner, Joe Plasko and Dave Evans. The game was actually tied 2-2 after three innings before Tamaqua plated three runs in the fourth to take the lead and added a dozen more runs over the final three frames. Jan Van Arsdale adds a triple during the scoring barrage while Dalcin also connects for a double. Plasko, Wagner and Dalcin all end with two hits and two runs.
