State police at Hazleton

State police at the Hazleton barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 46-year-old Tamaqua man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 12:50 a.m. May 10.

He was stopped in a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse for multiple Title 75 violations on Route 924 in Hazle Township.

• Police were called to investigate a theft incident at 7:31 a.m. May 6 at Spring Mountain Road and Hudson Drive, Banks Township.

The victim of the theft of wire is M.J. Electric LLC of Drums.

• Denise Kennedy, 49, of Nesquehoning, was cited for theft after police were called to the Laurel Mall, Hazle Township, at 4:50 p.m. May 5.

Police said the victim is a 31-year-old woman from Shenandoah, who reported her wallet was stolen.

• A 60-year-old Weatherly man was arrested on assault charges after police responded to an inactive domestic dispute on Bark Hollow Road, Packer Township.

Police said that a 59-year-old woman from Weatherly had signs of recent physical injuries and told police that the man had hit her.
