State police at the Hazleton barracks released the results of the DUI Sobriety Checkpoint initiative they conducted over the Memorial Day holiday period.
From May 22 to 25, police conducted the checkpoint program on roads in Carbon and lower Luzerne counties, resulting in 12 traffic citations and 18 written warnings being issued for violations of the Motor Vehicle Code.
In addition, three motorists were interviewed but successfully passed standardized field sobriety testing.
