June 1, 1973 — Behind the solid pitching of Terry Tracey, Marian’s softball team ends the season with a 3-1 victory over Pottsville. Tracey tosses a six-hitter and allows just a second-inning run. She also helps her own cause by collecting a hit and scoring a run. The Fillies snap a 1-1 tie with a pair of runs in the fourth and then ride Tracey’s arm to the win. Linda Forgotch delivers a triple and scores a run, while Joy Shamay finishes with a pair of hits. The winners also receive a hit and run from Bernadette Rodgers.
