State police at Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 23-year-old Lehighton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 7:06 p.m. May 23.
He was stopped in a 2012 Subaru Outback for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Interchange Road in Franklin Township.
• A 34-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman are facing charges after police were summoned to a domestic dispute in their residence on Long Run Road, Franklin Township, at 3:50 a.m. May 21.
Police said the man was criminally charged with assault/bodily injury, while the woman was issued a non-traffic citation.
• A 39-year-old Lehighton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 2:05 p.m. May 13.
Police said he was stopped in a 2011 Toyota for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Interchange Road, Franklin Township.
They said that he was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance and was jailed in the Carbon County Correctional Facility, Nesquehoning.
• Three people were cited for harassment by physical contact after police responded to a verbal and physical altercation at 7:59 p.m. May 17 on Mahoning Drive West, Mahoning Township.
Cited were two men, ages 56 and 23, and a 34-year-old woman, all from Lehighton.
• A 20-year-old Lehighton man was charged with assault with a weapon after police responded to an argument that had escalated into a physical confrontation at 10:35 p.m. May 16.
It occurred at the intersection of Oak and Craig streets in Bowmanstown, where the victim, a 39-year-old Palmerton man, sustained a cut in the head from a knife, police said.
• Police charged a 45-year-old Saylorsburg man with driving under the influence of alcohol.
They were called to a property on Chestnut Drive South, Ross Township, at 2:44 a.m. May 15. Police said it was determined that the man drove home in a 2006 Ford and did not park it properly, damaging a retaining wall.
