State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following incidents:
• Police investigated a forgery/counterfeiting incident at 5:21 p.m. on May 5. A 48-year-old Effort man reported the incident.
They said an officer conducted a traffic stop of a 2025 Nissan Sentra on Union Boulevard in Allentown that was suspected to be involved in numerous thefts/counterfeit currency schemes. They said the occupants were identified and a $100 counterfeit bill was seized from the vehicle.
Police said the suspect and the vehicle are believed to be part of a large-scale counterfeit currency scheme spanning throughout the Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia areas.
• A 71-year-old Schwenksville man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police were called to the intersection of Friedens and Best Station roads, Washington Township.
Police said they were called to the location at 2:30 a.m. on April 27 to help a local police department with a suspected DUI.
The man was driving a 2012 Kia Soul, police said.
