It’s a “DISASTER!”

The Nuremberg Community Players will present “Disaster,” at 7 p.m. May 29 and 30, and at 3 p.m. May 31 at the Emerson Theater, 283 Hazle St., Nuremberg.

The hilarious Broadway musical hit is a side-splitting spoof of 1970s disaster films. The show takes place on a floating casino and discotheque where an array of colorful characters must survive earthquakes, tidal waves and piranhas, all set to a soundtrack of iconic disco hits.

Todd Statuto stars as Chad Rublow, a rugged caterer who finds himself battling both natural disasters and old heartbreaks. Savannah Klingerman plays Maryanne Winters, a determined journalist who unexpectedly reunites with an ex-fiancé during the chaos. Lacey Johnson portrays Jackie Noelle, a lounge singer and single mother searching for a better life, while Tori Dibble takes on the role of Shirley Winters, a vibrant woman hiding a terminal secret from her husband.

The characters also include a guitar-playing nun with a hidden gambling addiction, a greedy casino owner, a faded disco diva and an awkward disaster expert.
