State police at Hazleton

State police at the Hazleton barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 44-year-old Hazle Township man was cited for a Dog Law violation after police were called to Emerald Court, Hazle Township, at 4:22 p.m. May 8.

Police said a 24-year-old woman from Tresckow told police the man failed to keep his dog confined within his premises.

• Trevor Coombs, 34, of Weatherly, was cited for retail theft (shoplifting) after police were called to the Walmart Super Center, Hazle Township, at 3:06 p.m. May 1.

Police said he was caught trying to steal merchandise valued at $33.65 from the store.

• Police are investigating a “sex offender conduct related” incident they were alerted to through a ChildLine referral.

They said the incident was reported to have occurred at 7:32 a.m. April 15 on South Chestnut Street, Banks Township.

• Michael Kelchak, 41, of Beaver Meadows, was cited for disorderly conduct after an incident at 3:29 p.m. April 4 at the Sheetz store on Hazle Township.

Police said he caused a disturbance by threatening workers and yelling in the store.

• Donna Knepper, 67, of Weatherly, is the victim of a “theft of lost/mislaid property” incident reported to police at 2:55 p.m. March 13 at the Walmart Super Center, Hazle Township.

She told police someone stole $200 in cash that she dropped somewhere in the store.
