State police at Fern Ridge - crashes
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following crashes:
• No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 6:01 p.m. May 2 on Merwinsburg Road, Chestnuthill Township.
Police said the crash occurred as a 17-year-old girl from Saylorsburg was driving a 2012 Volkswagen Passat north on Burger Hollow Road when the car proceeded through a posted stop signed intersection with Merwinsburg Road and traveled into a wooded area.
A 15-year-old girl from Kunkletown was a passenger in the vehicle.
Police said the car had undercarriage damage and was towed from the scene.
The driver was cited for “duties at a stop sign,” according to police.
• A 2021 Toyota RAV4 was towed from the scene of a crash at 5:23 p.m. April 25 on Running Valley Road, Jackson Township.
Police said the vehicle, which was operated by Jeffre Rosendale-McCrea, 38, of Saylorsburg, was disabled in the middle of the road when it sustained front-end damage in the incident with a 2013 Ford F-150 that was driven by Dariusz R. Gasior, 58, of Brooklyn, New York. Police said Gasior fled the scene before their arrival.
No one was injured in the crash.
• James J. Tierney, 66, of Jim Thorpe, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 1:38 p.m. April 30 on Drakes Creek Road, Penn Forest Township.
Police said he was driving a 2014 Subaru Outback southbound when it traveled off the roadway onto the right shoulder and hit a wooden post and tree.
The vehicle had heavy front-end damage and was towed from the scene.
Tierney was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed, according to police.
