The Valley Royale Foundation recently held an after-school tennis clinic for students in grades 3-5 at the Lehighton Elementary Center.
USTA representative Angela Jones taught participants the basic skills of tennis during the clinic. Members of the Lehighton High School tennis team also joined the event after their practice was rained out, helping lead stretching and warmup activities while assisting the younger players throughout the session.
The foundation will host its fifth annual Kids Tennis Carnival on Saturday, May 16, from 1-3 p.m. at Valley Royale Tennis Club. The event is open to students through eighth grade and will feature a tennis obstacle course across all four courts, progressing from coordination and basic skills to hitting a tennis ball over the net. Additional activities also will be available outside the courts.
